Process Server Stripped Trousers Before Service

Background.  Londoners were moving to new suburbs and abandoning urban London in post WWII England.  Squatters were moving into the abandoned properties.  England wanted to rid itself of the squatter problem.  Squatters were breaking and entering and living in premises that were empty in the 1940’s in urban England.  It was so bad that it was considered an epidemic.  So the Prime Minister attempted to serve process on the squatters.

In 1946 in London, England, a process server in a back coat stripped his trousers off and climbed through the ground floor window and served an eviction notice on the Secretary of the Squatters.
